adi Lean Manufacturing and Design - Senior Design Engineer
The Role
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be working with the current engineering team designing jigs and fixtures, assembly benches and semi-automated production cells.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
* Attending design handover meetings for new jobs.
* Taking part in design kick-off meetings with the customer.
* Machine design using SolidWorks with a set budget in mind.
* Organising and attending design reviews, when necessary, internal and external with the customer.
* Updating the design following on from reviews.
* Conducting design risk assessment and safety documentation.
* Creating detailed 2D drawings for manufacturing and assembly drawings.
* Creating bill of materials and build folder for shop floor detailing steps for build.
* Attending controls and software handover meetings.
* Attending build handover with the shop floor supervisor.
* Supporting build with any design related snags.
* Designing alternative solutions during machine development phase.
* Preparing operation and maintenance manual and other CE related documentations for the project.
About You
We would like to hear from you if you have experience with the use of the following:
* Electric actuators in pick and place mechanisms/ transfer/ handling or similar applications.
* Pneumatic actuators and valves in transfer mechanisms/ handling/ pressing applications.
* Vacuum or mechanical grippers in transfer/ handling or similar applications.
* Sensors- photoelectric and inductive, contrast/color for part detection and poke yoke checks
* 6 axis robots in gluing, ultrasonic, vision or similar application.
* Machine guarding and operator safety- use of light curtains and safety interlocks.
Good Understanding of:
* GD&T in custom Machined parts and fabrications.
* Estimating Costs of 'off the shelves' components used in design to maintain design budgets.
* Hazard reach distances and gaps.
* Design risk assessment and FMEA.
