We are recruiting for a Project Manager to join our fantastic team based from our Tunstead Quarry site, close to Buxton in Derbyshire. The role is easily commutable from Buxton, Macclesfield, Stockport, Dronfield, Manchester, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Leek, Stoke-on-Trent, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derby, Congleton and the surrounding areas.

Main ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Regional Engineering Manager you as the Project Manager will lead and motivate on new and developing projects and our site team’s working across the Midlands. You will also ensure that both new and developing projects are delivered to the highest standards specified and that performance is achieved; from conception through to handover to the business, developing safely and operated as effectively and efficiently as possible to ensure that the business achieves maximum value from our extensive reserves, in the short and long term.

As the successful candidate for the role of Project Manager; you will be able to demonstrate previous experience in a Project Management role (not exhaustive).


Manage the investment budget in the operational Area
Responsible for the safety of site staff and contractors delivering the projects under the 2015 CDM Regulations
Responsible for financial control of the investments, for the Projects from conception through to handover
Ensuring the projects deliver all the objectives as set out in the initial justification of the investment
Managing the project team ensuring resource and competencies are sufficient to achieve the expected outcome over a varied program of projects
You will provide engineering advice and support to the wider business for problem solving, process design, operational improvements and statutory inspections
Responsible for all the projects in an area to ensure the projects are managed with zero harm and to achieve financial budget, program and business objectives in a safe and professional manner
Manage all projects to achieve the lowest cost of ownership possible
Apply Project Management and Engineering skills to identify opportunities for cost saving in projects and develop innovative solutions
Manage all projects to achieve the lowest cost of ownership possible
Lead, develop and inspire colleagues in your wider organisation to cultivate high performing, competent teams
Ability to deliver excellent performance and influence internal and external stakeholders to deliver positive results will be fully utilised in this role


Key Stakeholders you will liaise within the responsibilities of this role:

Regional Directors – Regional Managers – Maintenance Managers - Health & Safety team - Procurement and support teams - Area Operations teams - Area Commercial teams - Area HR Manager - Industry Bodies - Customers
The Ideal CandidateAs the Project Manager, you will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.


Hold a relevant role related degree or be QBE
IOSH or NEBOSH
CAD experience would prove highly beneficial but not essential
Linking new designs with Business As Usual(BAU)

Ensuring design are practical and useable
Safety and Environmental concerns are eliminated through good application of design


Designs and the application of, meet permits and planning conditions
Sharing and explaining drawings to key stake holders
Ensure clean and timely transition from Project to BAU
Concrete, Aggregate, Asphalt & Sand and Gravel Process Knowledge – although not essential


You must have a FULL UK manual car driving license with no more than 6 points
