Academic Teaching Staff: Physics and Mathematics, Science, Computer science
These are full-time or part-time, fixed term appointments for 12 months starting in September 2024
We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and reliable persons to join our international teaching team in Enschede. Daily activities & responsibilities
Approximately half of your working week will be dedicated to conducting lectures and seminars. In the lectures, you will instruct all students within a specific stream simultaneously. During seminars, your focus will be on teaching smaller classes, with a maximum of 25 students. You will also be involved in our project courses, where students work in groups to address real-life problems, integrating knowledge from various courses. Your involvement includes creating content, guiding students, and grading both formative and summative project assessments.
* Teach on campus at the University of Twente.
* Deliver Navitas-approved, university-validated teaching material.
* Work with Navitas to develop materials depending on the needs of the students.
* Liaise daily with Head of Learning and Teaching.
* Help develop assessment material/exams.
* Grade and provide assessment feedback on both formative and summative examinations, providing results in a timely manner.
* Participate in standardisation sessions with fellow teachers to ensure assessment feedback and grading is constructive and accurate.
* Monitor and assess students' participation and progression levels.
* Carry out administrative tasks, such as taking attendance, student reports and grading.
* Support students on a 1 to 1 basis to assist them with their skills.
* Partake in training and development workshops and staff meetings.

Essential Qualifications
* Minimum qualifications in the relevant studies (Preferably Masters)
* Minimum 3 years teaching experience in relevant academic field
* Good organisational and IT skills
Desirable Qualifications:
* A recognised relevant teaching qualification
* Experience teaching multi-national student groups
* Experience in using Moodle or other online educational portals
* The following characteristics: enthusiastic, independent, communicative, and organized
* Knowledge of educational practices in the Netherlands
* Living in or nearby Enschede, allowing you to commute to Enschede on a daily or close to daily
