What we are offering:Salary up to £35,000.00 per annum.Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 16:30 shift pattern.Please see attached benefits guide for all benefits available!Your Role as a Electrical engineerAs an Electrical engineer at HMP Northumberland, your role is pivotal in maintaining the prison's essential infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities include the installation, testing, examination, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment within the prison. However, you will also be required to carry out a wide range of other duties. HMP Northumberland is large and varied, with buildings of various ages and uses, including residential house blocks, kitchens, classrooms, workshops, offices and of course lots of security equipment. This means that no day ever looks the same and you will be regularly engaged with new and exciting challenges.Working within a prison means that your work directly contributes to the safety and operational efficiency of the facility and therefore a key aspect of the role is ensuring compliance with safety code and regulation. You will be expected to keep accurate records of maintenance and complete any administration actions in a timely manner. You would also be expected to be use your initiative to make decisions based on manufacturers documents, such as schematics and operational instructions.What is great about working as an Electrical engineer at HMP Northumberland is being involved with our supportive and welcoming team. Teamwork is a cornerstone of this role, as you'll collaborate with other skilled professionals to achieve common goals.
