An opportunity is available for two Claims Assistants to join us on a temporary contract for a period of 12 months (subject to review) based in Huthwaite.

Reporting to the Claims Manager you will be providing administrative support to ensure that all claims are managed efficiently and effectively.

You will need to have at least 4 GCSEs or equivalent and demonstrate excellent customer service skills.  Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.

If you are offered a position, you will be required to complete and provide a satisfactory basic DBS check that shows any unspent convictions or conditional cautions.

Main Responsibilities
Receive, assess and resolve all claims on behalf of the Company by negotiating the best deal in settlement of the claim.
Request and act on information provided by managers and give specialist advice on the best course of action having regard for the law, company insurance and company policies.
Work with external claimants to ensure the early settlement of claims to prevent further action and unnecessary costs.
Train, coach and advise managers and less experienced staff on claims procedures as appropriate.
Instruct loss adjusters, agents or solicitors, assess their reports and advice and ensure that their actions are in the best interests of the Company and its insurers.
Maintain clear and complete records of all claims following procedures set out by the Claims Manager.
Manage case load of claims working flexibly to ensure that work is prioritised and that team/company/regulatory standards are adhered to.
Deal with difficult customer issues to achieve a satisfactory result for both parties.

The Ideal CandidateYou will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.  You will have a strong administrative background with excellent negotiation and numeracy skills. 

Be able to work using your initiative and take responsibility for your own work along with basic knowledge of engineering practice, procedures and computer systems and common faults that affect the network.
