The Senior Contract Accountant role sits within our education sector, Chartwells – State Schools reporting directly into the Finance Manager. This role plays a key role in Business Partnering the Head of Operations, supporting several key local authority contracts which are pivotal. One of the key contracts will imminently be starting extension negotiations and so the role of Senior Contract Accountant role offers the exciting opportunity to be a part of this process.As a Senior Contract Accountant within our Education sector you will based in our Birmingham office with flexibility to work from home occasionally. You will use your skills to maintain a high standard of quality work. and, in return, you will have the chance to progress your career with a company that invests in its people, celebrates individuality, and rewards and recognises employees who go above and beyond.The Senior Contract Accountant will be responsible for:Preparing key business reporting such as month end reports, business reviews, client reports, budgets, cash analysis and other ad-hoc analysis to be discussed at monthly review.Supporting closing monthly accounts ensuring sales and costs are accurately and appropriately recognised.Generating sales invoices and credit notes on a timely basis and supporting debt management through aiding the resolution of queries.Support with the budgeting and forecasting process by consolidating the budget and trying to understand key variancesSupport with completion of base data documentation for client tenders, negotiations and capital expenditure appraisalsYou will ensure health and safety of all colleagues within the business and report any incidents via the approved company processesThe successful Senior Contract Accountant will be:Actively studying Accountant in CIMA/ACCA/ACA or the like with good experience in accounting rolesExperience of management accounting inclusive of accounting adjustments, producing reports/analysis to support commercial decision making. Analytical and with a high level of attention to detail Experience of business partnering non-finance professionals to support the delivery of sound financial information.
