Cremator Technician
Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm
Location: Three Counties Crematorium
Salary: £26,416 per annum (£12.70 per hour)

Our Cremator Technicians are responsible for the operation and maintenance of cremation equipment, handling ashes of the deceased, and ensuring compliance with all health & safety, and legal standards.
Manual Handling and attention to detail are key aspects of this role, therefore a high level of physical fitness and the ability to process sensitive information accurately is essential.

This role will suit someone who:

Willing to undertake the mandatory Cremator Technician training course (approx. 6 months).
Ability to work to tight timescales, respond to changing duties and understand where to prioritise tasks effectively.
Excellent computer literacy with the ability to utilise systems and all Microsoft packages.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Here is what a typical day could look like for you:

Operating cremators and ancillary equipment in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines (Full Training will be provided for this).
Ensuring the safe custody of cremated remains left in the care of the Crematorium and keeping a log of records electronically to comply with standard operations procedures.
Logging of repairs and maintenance to ensure that the cremators and ancillary equipment are maintained to the highest standard.
Keeping stock records of cremation equipment and ensuring equipment is maintained/stored correctly.
Ensuring the Crematory and associated rooms are kept clean and clear of hazards at all times.
Whilst the above duties will be a main part of your role, our teams work collaboratively, therefore you will be upskilled in other duties across our Crematorium Teams.
We are an agile team; to meet the needs of our customers requires us to be mobile and flexible, therefore you are likely to be asked to work across different locations in the local area when required based on operational needs.
