Job Purpose
Exam Invigilators work as a team, supervised by the Chief Invigilator and the Examinations Officer.
Invigilators facilitate the examination process; ensuring exams are carried out in accordance with SQA and JCQ regulations.
Invigilators monitor students during exams and record breaches of regulations.

Main ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
Invigilator duties include, but are not limited to the following:
• Ensure exam procedures and processes are implemented under the direction of the Chief Invigilator.
• Ensure SQA and JCQ regulations are observed.
• Carry out all duties relating to invigilation in various venues under the direction of the Chief Invigilator.
• Assist in the distribution of exam materials.
• Assist students entering exam venues, direct them to seats, advise they are under exam conditions and read out exam announcements.
• Actively monitor and patrol the exam venues.
• Deal effectively and efficiently with issues during examinations relating to; students, exam documentation etc.
• Escort students from venues during exams as required (toilet breaks, illness etc.) ensuring students are supervised while outside the exam room.
• Identify and deal with suspected breaches of regulations, confiscate prohibited material and accurately complete incident reports.
• Collect, and tally examination material at the end of each exam, ensuring paperwork is readied for collection.
• Manage the departure of students from venues after exams, ensuring they leave in an orderly and quiet manner.
• Maintain the integrity of all exam documentation.
No experience is necessary, as all training will be provided. Pay will be in line with current SQA pay scales for invigilators
