We're looking for a Specialist Employment Advisor to support ex-offenders re-integrating into society and securing meaningful employment.
This is a specialist role where you will need previous experience of working with people from an ex-offender background and a strong understanding of ex-offender rehabilitation.
As a Specialist Employment Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting ex-offenders to reintegrate into society and secure meaningful employment.Your mission is to empower individuals through comprehensive guidance, mentoring, and support, thereby reducing reoffending rates and fostering long-term personal and professional growth. You will also capture data and research into this area to improve services on an ongoing basis.You will be at the forefront of transforming lives, helping clients overcome barriers, and advocating for fair employment opportunities, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to rebuild their lives.

Your impact

Client Support: Provide tailored advice and guidance to ex-offenders, helping them develop employability skills and progress into stable employment.
Case Management: Oversee a caseload of clients, ensuring they receive personalised support based on their unique needs and barriers.
Job Matching: Work with employers to identify suitable opportunities for clients, assist with CVs, applications, and interview preparation.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with employers, job centres, training providers, and community organisations.
Workshops & Training: Deliver engaging workshops to improve clients' employability skills, confidence, and readiness for the job market.
Mentorship: Provide ongoing mentoring throughout the client's journey to help them sustain employment and personal development.
Research & Reporting: Collect data and conduct research to improve the service, reporting findings that drive better client outcomes.

Detail-Oriented: You have excellent attention to detail in documentation, case management, and communication.
Resilient: You remain positive in the face of challenging situations and can navigate difficult conversations with confidence.
Organised: You efficiently manage multiple cases while ensuring compliance and quality service delivery.
Stakeholder Manager: You can engage and collaborate with external partners, employers, and local organisations.
Experienced: You have experience in employment advisory or related roles, particularly working with individuals from ex-offender backgrounds.
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using modern technology, data management systems, and MS Office for reporting and client interaction.
Ambitious & Driven: You are motivated by success and improvement, always striving to better the lives of your clients.
Relevant Experience: At least 2 years of working with individuals from ex-offender backgrounds, ideally with employment or rehabilitation-focused contracts.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 197, the Exceptions Order 1975, spent/unspent convictions, and relevant government policies supporting ex-offenders.
Education: Possess a Level 3 IAG qualification or above with relevant experience in the employability or skills sectors.
Proven Track Record: Strong background in managing cases, SMART action planning, and guiding clients into sustainable employment.
Collaboration & Compliance: Experience in working with local authorities, job centres, and external agencies to ensure compliance and positive outcomes.
