The Education Entitlement Service (EES) strives to deliver outstanding services for our customers, predominately the children of Coventry, who may be requiring access to education or alternative education provision. We ensure vulnerable children are appropriately supported; have a voice, that hopefully leads to their high achievement and excellent progress.
The EES is made up of a diverse range of teams all working together to recognise, support and apply innovative solutions to address the growing issues in relation to trying to educate some of our most vulnerable pupils in schools.
The Hospital Education Service (HES) provides education for pupils from age 4-16 years, some of whom are taught on the Children’s Ward within the local large general hospital; others aged 11-16 years are taught at Whitmore Park Annexe or on home tuition.

What is the job role?Inspired Pathways (formerly Hospital Education Service) is a Transition Service with three key provisions:
Hospital school at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire
Home tuition service
Pupil referral unit based at Whitmore Park Annexe
Pupils are referred to our service in the following ways:
By a hospital consultant following a child’s discharge from hospital due to injury or surgery
By a CAMHS consultant recommending a period of intervention
By medical professionals following a child’s discharge from a Tier 4 provision
Via the Extended School Non-Attendance Advisory Panel (ESNAAP).
This is an exciting and dynamic role for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support children in overcoming barriers to learning in the classroom. Main duties will include:
Supervise and support the teaching, and related activities, of individuals or groups of pupils to facilitate their learning as well as their social and emotional wellbeing.
Use appropriate skills to undertake those activities necessary to meet the learning, social and emotional needs of individuals and groups of pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Monitor individual pupils’ progress, achievements and development needs, reporting to the responsible staff as appropriate.
Take a lead role in the support and progress of identified pupils at Whitmore Park Annexe.
Assist the teaching staff in the development and implementation of Individual Education and Personal Development Programmes for individuals and groups of pupils
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
