HMP & YOI Bronzefield is the largest women’s prison in Europe which accommodates a diverse and complex population of women from restricted Status women who require the highest levels of security, women on remand (Who are often experiencing custody for the first time), as well as supporting women with chronic mental health conditions.We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Nurseto join our team, providing high-quality care and education for children up to the age of 2 years. The role involves creating a safe and stimulating environment for all who work or attend the setting, while working in partnership with unit officers, health visitors, midwives, and families. You belong in a team where you can act with purpose and thrive in your own way.For more information on Sodexo Careers please visit Sodexo CareersMain Responsibilities• To work within the nursery team to provide a friendly, caring, relaxing, and secure environment that encourages and nurtures the development of the children in our care.• To ensure all daily routines are followed, allowing flexibility for individual children’s needs and unforeseen circumstances.• To observe, plan, and implement activities for key children, as well as group activities, incorporating festivals, cultures, and special events.• To act as a Key Person for a group of children, which includes settling them into the nursery, conducting inductions, taking an active role in their Child and Mother Reviews, and completing 4-week childcare plans.• To maintain children’s Learning Journeys and records, completing any necessary reports for safeguarding purposes or special needs.• To take children on regular outings into the community as part of the nursery team.• To actively engage in your own professional development, keeping up to date with current information on childcare and attending relevant training.• To maintain good personal hygiene, such as washing hands, and follow HMP YOI Bronzefield’s Health and Safety• To view the mother and baby unit as a ‘whole’ and identify where your help and skills can be best utilised by actively participating in all aspects of the unit to ensure an effective multi-disciplinary approach is maintained.• To work in accordance with HMP YOI Bronzefield’s Diversity and Inclusion policy and \Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults policy.Please see attached job description for further information regarding the role requirementsThe Ideal CandidateA minimum of NVQ Level 3 qualification, or equivalent, in childcare.Must be at least 18 years old, due to the nature of the environment.Experience working with children under the age of 2.A current Paediatric First Aid certificate is desirable but not essential.Package DescriptionSalary £13,416.00 per annum.Working Hours21.5 hours (Regular Monday – Friday pattern)Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.You’ll belong in a company and team that values you for you; you’ll act with purpose and have an impact through your everyday actions; and you’ll be able to thrive in your own way.
