Maintenance Technician£29,200We are recruiting a Maintenance Technician to join our friendly, skilled team, who provide maintenance and repair services across 40+ properties.A Wilderness Way have over 44 children’s residential care homes within Cumbria and Northumberland. We offer short-term crisis intervention for children who have suffered adverse childhood trauma.Our teams are dedicated and professional, working together to transform the lives of the children we look after.• Your hours of work are, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with a degree of flexibility required.• Van and equipment provided.• Your holiday entitlement is 33 days per annum,• You will receive a Company pension contribution,• Additional leave for continuous service,• Excellent Health and Wellbeing benefits via Medicash, including cash back on optical, dental, and a range of complimentary therapies, 24/7 access to a virtual GP, gym membership discounts and other lifestyle apps. • Life Assurance,• High street discounts,• An employee referral scheme of £1000 for every successful referral,• An employee recognition scheme to celebrate our ‘Wilderness Heroes’.Your role and responsibilities as Maintenance Technician• Minor building, plumbing, Carpentry and Painting and decorating.• Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.• Fixing or replacing any fixtures, fittings, etc. within the properties.• General internal and external decoration.• Grounds Maintenance.Essential qualities that we look for,• Good all-round maintenance or construction skills. • Is enthusiastic, tenacious and has a strong attention to detail.• Comfortable using a variety of tools.• Can trouble shoot, using one’s initiative.• Happy to ‘roll their sleeves up’ and get stuck into helping with all aspects of our maintenance teams jobs and able to problem solve.• Is an enthusiastic team player, but also comfortable working on their own.• A full, valid, UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle.All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland as we follow safer recruitment processes.
