Astute’s Power team is partnered with global engineering company to recruit a Shift Plant Operator for their Energy from Waste Power Station near Tamworth, West Midlands.
The vital Shift Plant Operator role comes with a salary �44,000 + Bonus + Overtime + Benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
* Using a DCS/SCADA system you will be required to start, stop and monitor turbines, boilers, pumps, water treatment plant and more.
* Ensuring the plant is operating within its parameters whilst complying with strict HSE rules and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
* Performing plant walk round and daily checks to ensure equipment is operating correctly and efficiently.
* Monitoring of continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS) and perform corrective adjustments to the process when required.
* Providing technical supervision and assistance where necessary for company and contract staff
* Working within the company Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* A time served apprenticeship with an HNC in electrical/electronic engineering, measurement & control or similar.
* A formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous but not a necessity
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
The Shift Plant Operator role would suit someone who has:
* Prior experience in an operational environment on a power station or heavy process facility with steam raising plant. This could be energy from waste, coal, CCGT, biomass, CHP, nuclear or utilities. Royal Navy Marine Engineers with significant watch keeping experience will also be considered at LET level and above
* Ideally have an understanding of Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
* An ambitious person who is also looking at longer term development/progression prospects
