We are looking for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our community Speech and Language Therapy team based at our Derby Court, Trowbridge location.

If you are dedicated to raising awareness of speech, language and communication needs in young people in the community, we’d love to hear from you!

You will work alongside our Band 5 and Band 7 Speech and Language Therapists as well as Speech and Language Therapy Assistants, and report to the Hub Team Lead. You will support preschool and school age children up to the age of 19 years with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties and their families within the Wiltshire community. You will assess a child’s communication difficulties using formal and informal assessment, specialist knowledge and consultation with parents and professionals.

We are particularly interested to hear from Speech and Language Therapists with a special interest or post graduate training in voice, stammering, dysphagia or other clinical areas. Additional training could be considered to an appropriate candidate for these or other clinical areas.

You will join a team who is innovative and progressive with a focus on fostering development for all their staff with opportunities for apprenticeships and other development opportunities.

Service hours are typically 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for flexibility within this upon discussion.

Return to Practice:

Are you looking to return to practice as a Speech and Language Therapist? We can help you refresh and develop your skills and knowledge.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs a  Speech and Language Therapist you will manage a caseload of children with multiple and complex SLCN including children with social, emotional and mental health needs

You will provide specialist advice and support to the Wiltshire SALT service in order to identify and enable effective support and intervention for those with speech, language and communication difficulties. 

You will participate in multidisciplinary planning and strategy meetings regarding the needs of specific young people and the service as a whole. This will include identifying gaps in the service and generating possible solutions.
The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have:


A recognised Speech and Language Therapy/Pathology Degree Qualification 
HCPC Registration and be a Registered member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy
3 years previous experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist  
Knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with language disorder, speech sound disorders, stammering difficulties, autism spectrum disorders and other complex communication difficulties
Valid UK Driving Licence and access to a car
