At Sodexo, you will be an essential member of the team working as a Cleaning Supervisor in Altrincham Grammar School For Boys, Marlborough Road, Bowden WA14 2RS, you’ll organize and manage the cleaning staff daily to ensure a smooth and effective cleaning service. This role involves collaborating with Sodexo and school management to regularly review cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals, making recommendations for

improvement and challenging the status quo. You’ll also manage staff absences in line with the Sodexo Absence policy and provide induction and training for both new and existing team members to uphold company standards.

What you’ll do:


Take reasonable steps to prevent loss or damage to school property, staff, and pupils.
Collaborate with other cleaning staff to uphold cleaning standards in line with Service Level Agreements.
Provide logistical support, ensuring the school is prepared for performances, assemblies, conferences, and meetings.
Assist Sodexo Management in the interview process for new team members.
Replenish cleaning materials and equipment stock, using designated suppliers.
Conduct monthly stock checks on all chemicals and cleaning equipment.
Monitor and ensure quality standards for periodic and specific cleaning tasks in assigned areas.
Work flexibly to ensure adequate staffing across all areas, providing excellent customer service to school stakeholders.
Support and develop the on-site team, offering regular feedback on their performance and standards.
Maintain open communication with the Catering Manager and Cleaning Support Manager to meet operational expectations.
Attend school and Sodexo meetings as required to stay aligned with team goals and updates.
Participate in relevant training courses and comply with all school and statutory regulations regarding Health & Safety, hygiene, cleanliness, fire safety, and COSHH, being aware of any specific workplace hazards.


What you bring:

Essential


Previous experience of managing and leading and diverse teams
Knowledge of cleaning developments and innovations
Previous experience of working in standards driven/compliance environment
Strong knowledge of health and safety and COSHH regulations
Ability to prioritise and deploy resources effectively
Previous experience of conducting audits and undertaking risk assessments
Client relationship/stakeholder experience
Influencing & negotiating skills


Desirable


Contract/FM experience
IOSH/NEBOSH/FM qualification
British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICS) qualified
Audit compliance with external auditors

Monday - Friday 13:30 - 18:30(occasional mornings may be required - in school closures)

**Equated pay (sometimes known as spread-over pay) is a method of paying you for your contracted hours, working weeks and holiday pay spread over 12 months instead of just receiving pay during the months that you work and none during the school closures/non-working weeks. This means that you get paid equal amounts of pay every month. Further information will be supplied at interview stage.**
