Delivering moments that matter is what we truly take pride in at the Sofa Delivery Company, and as a Senior Fleet Controller, you will be playing an important part in the journey, supporting the delivery teams to get furniture to a customer's home.
You will be overseeing the running of the Fleet Services team, reporting into Fleet Systems & Operations Manager however your day to day can vary from ensuring legal compliance and compliance with Operator Licence requirements for DFS’s fleet of vehicles and trailers. To managing and controlling maintenance operations for the company fleet to ensure compliance and service levels are met and are within budget.
As well as to control and support all central fleet functions relating to ‘in life’ operation of Company cars and Fleet Administration.
You will be working 9am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday

What you'll be doing● Supervising the team, ensure that all fleet (and related assets) are operated legally i.e.
MOT, RFL, PMI etc.
● Assist the Fleet Systems & Operations Manager on budgetary control of the Fleet Services
department.
● Manage and co-ordinate the Fleet Services Team on a day-to-day basis to deliver on
role requirements.
● Ensure budgetary controls in fleet related costs to the Fleet Manager.
● Develop and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders & suppliers.
● Working with the Fleet Manager to ensure that Service Level Agreements are monitored
and adhered to.
● Oversee the Implement any developmental changes of the Company Car policy and its
processes.
● Assist in Contractor performance monitoring (charges, MOT pass rates, compliance,
quality etc)
● Coordinating support to the operational division of Supply Chain across the group of
Companies.
● Close monitoring and reporting of budgetary spend across various Supply Chain areas.
● Ensuring that Operational reports are provided/created, reviewed and action plans
created in line with departmental objectives.
● Ensuring internal charters are developed and met.
● Making clear communications of any fleet updates or new processes.
● Make recommendations in the development of the ‘in house’ fleet management
system to ensure effective use.
● Liaising with insurers and assist in developing systems to ensure continuous
improvement
● Fleet related project management
● Working with the Fleet Manager, ensure the best availability of all assets.

▪ Highly organised.
▪ Administration experience.
▪ Computer literate with good knowledge of common systems i.e. excel, powerpoint,
word etc. ▪ Excellent cost control experience.
▪ Excellent communicator.
▪ Team player.
▪ Commercially aware and able to identify opportunities without
compromising quality. ▪ Experience in the management of external service
providers.
▪ Experience in HGV/motor vehicle repair industry
Desirable;
▪ Previous experience in similar role
▪ Experience of using “in house” Fleet Management systems
▪ Recent experience in HGV/motor vehicle repair industry
▪ Experience of managing people.
