An opportunity has arisen for an Operator (HGV) based in Pool, West Cornwall.
As an Operator you will assist Craft teams with the construction, maintenance, replacement and repairs of assets up to and including 66kV. Duties may include carrying out routine inspection, maintenance and repairs of tools and PPE, assisting with the maintenance of stores and with the inspection of substations as required. All necessary training will be provided.
To apply, you will need to hold English & Maths GCSE (1-9/G-A*) or equivalent qualification deemed to be at the same level in these subjects, such as Functional Skills. Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.

Main ResponsibilitiesThe working environment requires quick, decisive and responsible thinking and actions to meet the demands of the role. You will need to be flexible in your approach to assist the team in meeting it's objectives.
The Ideal CandidateIdeally you will be licensed to drive a LGV (previously HGV) up to category C and hold a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), you will be able to work under your own initiative, in a safety critical environment including preparing lift plans and operating a lorry mounted crane, support will be provided to obtain any missing requirements that the successful candidate will be expected to obtain.
You will need to be mobile throughout the area and you may also be required to undertake out of hours standby duties as and when necessary to meet business needs.

This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service, (DBS) check, depending on the role different levels of screening and vetting are required. Some roles require a triannual check.
