The Operations Manager: Test, Measurement and Inspection (TMI) will deliver the highest standards of operations and service to meet customer expectations and business compliance using the most profitable and efficient best practice.Equal focus is required on Operational procedures and policy as well as Commercial awareness and delivery. This is a rapidly growing division and requires the Operations Manager to help steer and deliver and grow with business.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure as far as is reasonably practicable that equipment, premises, and employees adhere to all health, safety and quality procedures.Ensure we pro-actively achieve Vp Group audit and ESS/HS Compliance, Business Systems requirements and enforce environmental policy.Ensure the optimum level of equipment availability is achieved through effective management and maintenance of the hire fleet.Work with both operations and the commercial teams to ensure that we are exceeding expectations with our customers’ needs in terms of product innovation and management.Working with the commercial team to reduce fleet obsolescence and support asset disposal.Prepare CAPEX case submission with a view to introducing additional assets to the ESS fleet.Provide support and information to colleagues and customers regarding new assets added to the fleet.Support the commercial team with Supplier management: ensure competitive pricing is achieved.Liaise with the Finance and Commercial departments to create supplier agreements where appropriate.Support the Business Development team in winning and retaining national and customer accounts where applicable.Support and ensure disciplined cost management is effectively controlled within the TMI business.Provide compliance with all aspects of property management, ensuring that maintenance schedules are adhered to and all contractual obligations are met.Create and develop a suite of procedures documenting all TMI operational processes.When considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business.What We’re Looking ForDemonstrate significant experience in the Hire sector, Test and Measurement industry or equivalentManufacturer training desirableTechnical background: Electro / Mechanical / Process etc.An electronic, mechanical, or engineering qualification is desirable.Educated to relevant level / equivalent experience.Management / Leadership experienceAbility to demonstrate leadership capabilities: encouraging, collaborative and able to inspire team with company strategy and goals.Outstanding relationship building with influencing skills both internally and externally.
