What is the job role?Based at Plas Dol y Moch in Eryri (Snowdonia), N. Wales, to be a senior member of the Coventry Outdoors staff team planning, programming and delivering a range of Outdoor Education and Adventurous Activities, working with children, young people, schools, families and other key groups.

Experienced in the provision of Outdoor Education our Senior Tutor will be required to liaise with visiting group leaders and the Head of Centre to plan, prepare, induct and oversee the deliver high-quality programmes and sessions to the wide variety of groups that visit our centre each year.

The Senior Tutor will support the Head of Centre in mentoring Outdoor Education tutors and risk assess staff’s decision making in relation to activity and venue choice each day, in line with the Centres policies.

In the absence of the Head of Centre the Senior Tutor will act as the Centres Designated Safeguarding Lead and support with operational duties to ensure the safe and effective function of the Centre.

Please note this is a 0.65 (39 weeks x 24hrs a week) Term Time only position. The post holder will be deployed during the typical school term, plus the first 2 weeks of the Summer holidays. The salary will be pro-rata.

Senior Tutor will be expected to work both evening duties (with overnight on-call), and weekends.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
 
Who are we looking for?We are looking for a dynamic. highly experienced and competent Outdoor Professional with a broad range of National Governing Body Awards (at least one at a higher/ technical expert level) to plan, oversee and deliver a range of Outdoor Education courses from Plas Dol y Moch.
