We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as a Designer (Clothing) on a fixed term contract (6 months). You will report to Senior Manager, Product Design this position is responsible for the design of own-brand clothing ranges to be sold in LFC global merchandising channels. Ranges designed are to be reflective of the seasonal design strategy or provided briefs.What will you be doing?To undertake global design research on current market trends, future trends and fan insights, with the ability to interpret research to a commercial level and present findings back to the Senior Manager, Product Design to the specified briefs.Produce customer profiles, colour, mood, and trim boards to inform direction of each range, in keeping with overall design strategy and insight.To design clothing products against specified briefs which include financial frameworks, and critical path deadlines, including packaging, branding, and labelling.Create accurate, detailed design specifications for each product, packaging, trim and labelling to inform factories of product creation. Work with the PD and QA teams on the approval of lab dips, trims, branding, and samples.Ensuring design overviews, technical packs, packaging guidelines and packaging library are up to date in line with amendments required, to be communicated and distributed accordingly.Support and lead freelancers where required and contribute to brief setting. Allocate and prioritise workflow in line with critical paths.Contribute to the sustainability goals of the department, through the ongoing development and improvement of product and packaging design.Attend supplier meetings and visit factories where applicable.To support Club partnerships and licensee agreements with design work, when required. To support global merchandising partners with design work, when required.To design and manage reactive products where required.Support and work alongside the hardware designer, to ensure collaboration across multi product collections.Who are we looking for?To be successful in this role, you will have recent, significant experience of clothing design within a sport or lifestyle brand. You will have excellent working knowledge of design packages, including Photoshop and Illustrator and experience in graphic design. You will have a degree within a design related discipline and have multi product knowledge across LFC retail categories. It is important you have commercial awareness and knowledge of the global competitor market and understand the sports/ lifestyle sector. You will have good knowledge of sustainable practises/ trends and designing products for a diverse and global audience. The right candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent time management and planning skills. You will have the ability to present accurate information in a clear manner and be able to work in a fast-paced environment and working on multiple priorities.
