Support WorkerPay rate: £14 per hour (Monthly Pay)Shift Pattern: 10pm - 8am waking nightsRequirements: Previous experience with Epilepsy desirableUnfortunately, we cannot provide VISA sponsorship and we do not hire on a relocation basis, you must currently be based in/around the Lincoln area and able to commute.We are currently hiring for a compassionate and experienced Support Worker to join our team, specifically to support a client with epilepsy and a Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS). The ideal candidate would also have some experience working with Autism as well.If you are resilient, reliable, empathetic and looking for a role that truly makes a difference to someone else's life then we want to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Workers cover all manners of support for others - from companionship and days out, to personal care and housekeeping.Provide personal care and support to the child, ensuring his comfort and safety throughout the day.Assist with the management of epilepsy, including recognizing and appropriately responding to seizures.Support the use and maintenance of the VNS device, ensuring it functions correctly and safely.Use a person-centred approach to engage the person we support, taking into consideration his needs related to Autism Spectrum Disorder.Provide support with daily activities, promoting independence in areas such as personal care, schoolwork, and social activities.Help manage sensory sensitivities, communication barriers, and behavioural challenges related to autism, using appropriate strategies.Collaborate with the child's family and healthcare professionals to develop and implement an individualized care plan.Monitor the child’s health, administer medication, and assist with any additional medical procedures as directed.Maintain accurate records of care provided, ensuring clear communication with the healthcare team and family members.Skills, Knowledge and ExpertisePrevious experience in epilepsy care and ideally with VNS management.Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, understanding their specific needs and how to manage sensory sensitivities, routines, and communication preferences.A patient, calm, and compassionate approach, especially in challenging situations.Strong communication skills to effectively work with the child, family, and healthcare professionals.Ability to manage medical emergencies related to epilepsy and autism, remaining calm and confident.A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).Relevant healthcare or care qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care) are an advantage.Desirable Skills:Knowledge of autism-specific communication strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton) and behaviour management techniques.Experience with sensory integration techniques and promoting social inclusion.Ability to work flexibly to accommodate the child’s unique care needs and routines.BenefitsAccess to Westfield Rewards - an exclusive rewards website, special offers on all your favourite goods and services from over 1,000 leading online and high street retailers, restaurants, travel companies.Access to Westfield Health Cash Plan with access to GP appts and to an EAP (employee assistance programme) ,money back for optical and dentistry.Access to blue light discount scheme.Attractive holiday entitlement.Opportunity to obtain NVQ's in Health and Social Care.Progression opportunities within the organisation.Ongoing training and development.Pension enrolment.A great Refer a Friend scheme - receive up to £500 through our rewards scheme when you refer a friend or family member.#BHSAbout Bespoke Health and Social CareWe are a leading healthcare provider in the UK, and a CQC Registered business, founded in 2006, with more than 800 employees who are part of the Bespoke Family.
