Ganymede Solutions are working with one of the largest UK Train Operating Companies (currently operating 464 stations, the most of any TOC in the UK), who are seeking to recruit a Train Cleaner to join the train cleaning team at Blackpool LMD. Ganymede Solutions are a stock market recognised recruitment agency, specialising in the transportation, infrastructure, construction and engineering sectors on both permanent and contract basis.
The company covers the whole of the North, which includes the Northeast & West of England, Yorkshire and the Humber, as well as the occasional part of the East Midlands and Staffordshire. As a result of this, they have a large fleet of trains - 333 to be precise, so it's safe to say you will be active & busy with your role!

The Role:
We are currently looking for an individual to join the night shift cleaning team as a Train Cleaner based at the Blackpool LMD Depot, backing onto Blackpool North Station. As a Train Cleaner you will be carrying out all aspects of interior and exterior cleaning, which includes duties such as:
- Hoovering/dusting/sweeping
- Mopping
- Sanitizing touch points
- Cleaning/restocking toilets
- Cleaning graffiti
- Changing bins
- Picking up litter
You will be working within a team of 8 Train Cleaners, plus 2 Team Leaders carrying out full and deep cleans on the Northern Rail fleet. This is a very fast paced and intensive role, with on average 20 trains and 55 coaches being cleaned per night, so our client needs someone who can step and be a real team player.
You will be working on a 4 on 4 off/5 on 4 off shift pattern, with working hours being 20:00 - 05:00am or 22:00 - 05:00am depending on the week.

Pay Rate & Benefits:
The pay rate for the team leader position will be at �13.05 per hour on an initial 6-month basis.

Requirements:
- Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
- Be able to pass a full railway medical - this will include, sight, hearing, colourisation, heart, lungs, brain, etc
- Be able to attend a week of training in either Newton Heath Depot (Manchester) on 20/01/2025 or Allerton Depot (Liverpool) on 03/02/2025
- Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
- Must have team leading experience, but this does NOT have to be rail based
- Happy to help mentality/attitude
- A decent fitness is needed as the site is very large and will involve a lot of walking, so please keep this in mind when applying
