School AdministratorTerm Time (plus 7 weeks) – Maternity CoverLoretto School is one of Britain’s leading independent boarding and day schools located on the outskirts of Edinburgh and we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a School Administrator.This is a full-time post worked term-time plus an additional 7 weeks per year.Salary will be determined by experience and aptitude for the role but will be in the region of region of £27,000 (pro rata) plus benefits.Main Purpose of the RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a busy office environment to join our Administrative Team.The role will require a presentable and friendly individual who works calmly in a busy environment to represent the school in a front of house position as well as supporting staff. The candidate should have strong administrative skills as well as being able to provide a high level of customer service via email, telephone, and face-to-face communications with parents both prospective and current, staff members and pupils.The role will provide administrative support to all staff including Teaching, Housekeeping, Estate and Office colleagues on a day-to-day basis.This role, being part of the whole Administration Team across the school, can on occasion, such as in absences, require the cover of other roles within the Administration Team, which may include some evenings and weekends.Experience & SkillsExperience in an administrative role working in a busy office environment is essential.Eagerness to perform the role with flexibility, confidence, care, precision and professionalism.Have a professional appearance and high standard of telephone, written and communication skills.As well as being able to work independently, you must have proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a ‘can-do’ team.Ability to adapt well and quickly to new and varied tasks.Proficient computer skills and experience of working with all the Microsoft Office set of applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Forms. This may include producing posters, presentations and contributing to the School Newsletters.Proven ability to learn and use different types of software and applications.Ability to be thorough and pay excellent attention to detail.Experience working in an administrative role within a school is desirable but not essential.This is a fixed-term appointment for a period of two years, working term time plus 7 weeks at various non-term times of the year.
