As a Commie Chef at Sodexo, you will play a vital role in the food and beverage operations of Clifton College, 32 College Road, Clifton, Bristol, BS8 3JH. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality and service, ensuring that school catering is recognized as one of the best in the region. Your positive attitude and ability to provide direction and support will significantly impact your team’s morale and performance, creating a vibrant and productive work environment.

What you do:


Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including hygiene, cleanliness, and COSHH standards.
Meal Preparation and Service: Assist in the preparation, production, presentation, and timely service of meals per company standards.
Control of Raw Materials: Ensure proper control of food portions and temperatures, aligning with company standards.
Storage Management: Safely store all goods promptly, following a 'first in, first out' rotation system.
Hygiene Maintenance: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in food prep and service areas.
Work Area Cleanliness: Keep work areas organized and assist with routine cleaning schedules.
Personal Standards: Uphold high standards of personal performance, appearance, and hygiene at all times.
Customer Communication: Provide friendly and efficient service while communicating effectively with customers and clients.
Training Participation: Engage in necessary training and team meetings to meet company and client standards.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively to promote harmonious relationships within the team.


Irregular Duties:


Special Functions: Assist with special events, potentially outside regular hours, with additional overtime payment.
Complaint Handling: Report and address any customer complaints promptly.
Incident Reporting: Immediately report any incidents related to accidents, theft, or food safety.
Meeting Attendance: Attend required meetings and training courses as needed.


What you bring:


Experience in this field essential
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and staff at all levels
Strong level of literacy and numeracy
A Great Passion for Food and Team Engagement
Good time management and organizational skills
Ability to work well under pressure 
Computer literacy and ability to achieve and set standards and operate to performance criteria, with particular regard to hygiene
Positive approach to learning in role and identifying own training needs as appropriate
Self-motivated, sense of own initiative and the ability to meet target deadlines as set by the Account Manager
Ability to work effectively as part of and in the development of a team with a flexible approach to role and to successfully implement change
