health, safety and environment, legal / regulatory compliance and service delivery.Leading and inspiring a team consisting of warehouse, transport and support colleagues, with an overall headcount of c300 heads.Supporting our people to deliver great results, including driving engagement, managing performance and people development.Cultivating a positive working environment and embedding our values.Leading, supporting, and coaching managers to lead their teams effectively.Leading and supporting collaboration with service partners and sub-contractors to ensure compliance and exceptional initiatives.The Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate for the role will have the following skills and experiences:Strong operational background with experience of leading large teams (200+) in either a warehouse or transport environment, preferably both.Proven experience, that can be quantified through application and interview of operating in a senior management role.Be results driven and commercially minded.Experience of managing budgets and costs.Project / change management experience, including successful execution of major initiatives.Experience of managing a range of stakeholders.Be in a daily commutable distance to the main hub (Worcester).There will be occasions where you will be expected to work outside of standard working weekly hours and days, such as evenings, nights and Saturdays to ensure coverage and monitor activity.Personal AttributesAbility to motivate and inspire large teams, including geographically dispersed teams.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to interpret and summarise complex data to drive effective decision making.Ability to think strategically whilst retaining a focus on detail and a hands-on approach.Prepared to challenge norms and tackle difficult conversations.AdvantageousManager CPC qualification and experience as a nominated Transport Manager.IOSH and NEBOSH
