The Integrated Children with Additional Needs (ICAN) service is lookingto appoint an experienced, highly motivated, and enthusiastic Registered Nurse with community nursing and band 6 experience, to join our existing nursing team. This is an exciting time to join ICAN as you will be involved in the development of the new pre-school neurodiversity (ND) pathway.We are offering an exciting permanent role for aBand 6 ICAN Community Nurse (this would suit someone with Health visiting, School Nursing or Paediatric Nursing experience with additional training in public health) You will have a passion and interest in working with children with additional needs, including those who are neurodivergent.You will have experience of caseload management including safeguarding and multi-disciplinary working.You should display excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills and the ability to motivate and support others through change.You will work within our pre-school nursing intervention offers supporting care delivery for those children on our Pre-School ND, Complex Development, and Growth and Nutrition pathways. This includes supporting families attending for assessments, interventions and parent workshops. The workshops involve in person and online training in the areas of understanding ND, sleep, and eatingwith a commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for children.The position will be primarily based at St George's Centre with cross city cover.This role requires the successful candidate to have a caring and compassionate approach.Key responsibilities include working with children and their families who are on our pathways – from triage through to supporting care delivery and nursing interventions. You will manage your own caseload of children and young people who require Nursing support, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team including therapists and paediatricians. Effective communication, awareness of when to escalate concerns and recognition of limitations is therefore paramount to ensure the safety of the children and young people.The main focus of this role is with the ND and Growth and Nutrition pathways This involves a combination of Triage, Nursing assessment, intervention contacts, attendance at MDT meetings and delivering training to parent workshops.
