Core Duties


Ensure deliveries are received in the appropriate manner and always follow the Sodexo safety requirements.
Transfer food and other stock to the appropriate areas and store them correctly.
Ensure all food deliveries are recorded using the Sodexo systems and always within the acceptable HACCP limits.
Manage food and other waste, disposing of it in the appropriate bins.
Assist in waste handling, pot wash, dishroom, and customer waste area, ensuring they are kept clean and safe.
Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards, including weekly and periodic tasks.
Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) guidelines.
Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials, and agents, using them only after receiving correct training. Report faulty equipment immediately and mark it as faulty.
Ensure safety signage (e.g., wet floor signs) is used appropriately, and warn customers where possible.
Keep catering stores and back-of-house areas clean and tidy, with equipment stored correctly and safely at all times.
Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment, and buildings as laid down by the client and Sodexo.
Ensure a high standard of personal hygiene, appearance, and general cleanliness to comply with statutory and company regulations. Wear company uniform as specified.
Draw attention to low levels of material stocks, so replacements/new supplies can be ordered.
Report any potential hazards on-site or violations of Health & Safety Legislation to the Cleaning Supervisor/Manager.
Attend training courses and meetings as necessary to maintain standards in the contract and perform job responsibilities efficiently.
Provide cover in other areas during sickness and holidays when requested by the Executive Head Chef.
Ensure all cleaning equipment is kept clean and maintained in safe working order.
Comply with all Sodexo Company policies, procedures, and client site rules and regulations.
Follow company and statutory regulations relating to Health & Safety, hygiene, cleanliness, fire, and COSHH. Be aware of any specific hazards in the workplace.
Attend to any reasonable management requests.
Report and take necessary action for incidents of accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage, or other irregularities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)


Timely and accurate recording of food deliveries within HACCP limits.
Adherence to cleaning standards and safety protocols.
Proper waste management and cleanliness in all assigned areas.
Maintenance of cleaning equipment and materials.
Compliance with security and health regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required


COSHH Training: Trained in the safe handling of hazardous substances.
Experience: Experience working in a high-pressure environment with strict deadlines.
Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Compliance & Standards: Experience working in a compliance-driven environment.
Manual Handling: Familiarity with manual handling requirements.
Multitasking: Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic work environment.
Leadership: Ability to deputize in the absence of the Stores Manager and show initiative when necessary.
