We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Supervisor at WO's & Sgts Mess BO2, Merville Barracks, Circular Road South, Colchester to oversee the accounting, trading, and billing operations within the Mess. The successful candidate will ensure financial accuracy, compliance with company policies, and effective delivery of administrative services. This is a key role that requires strong financial management skills and the ability to maintain excellent client and customer relationships.What you’ll do:Manage all accounting, billing, and trading requirements while adhering to company and mess policies.Accurately input financial data into the system in compliance with legislative and company regulations.Process weekly/monthly charges and assist in producing mess bills.Provide financial reports to relevant stakeholders, ensuring full visibility of the mess's financial position.Oversee debtors and creditors to support cash flow management.Ensure timely collection and banking of revenues, reconciling cash daily to prevent discrepancies.Maintain compliance with security procedures regarding cash handling and storage.Address member queries accurately and professionally.Produce reports and maintain records in line with company and legal requirements.Uphold confidentiality in handling sensitive financial and personal data.Actively promote employee engagement and support recruitment, induction, and performance reviews for assigned employees.Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures and compliance with regulatory standards, including the Defence Quality Management System (DQMS).Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and take corrective action when necessary.Support your management team closely, in ensuring all book keeping support is provided.Ensure tasks are completed within a timely manner to support the sites needsOther duties may be requested depending on support needed at that specific time (such as month ending paperwork/compliance)What you bring:Proven experience in transaction processing within an accounts environment.Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.Strong knowledge of written and spoken English.Customer service-focused with a commitment to providing a helpful, prompt, and responsive service.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting systemsAccurate data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience dealing with individuals and teams at different levels.Excellent telephone manner and ability to provide a high standard of service to clients and stakeholders.Ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressureIts desirable, but an Level 2 or 3 AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification would be great!Previous experience in a similar role is needed, ideally Finance admin, Book keeper or have experience in the above within another role then we would love to hear from youWhat we offer:Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
