By supporting, improving and extending the use of Management Information Systems (MIS) (SIMS and Bromcom) across supported schools and academies, you will ensure they meet the needs of the education sector and comply with necessary statutory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesEnhance MIS Usage: Improve and extend the use of MIS systems across supported schools and academies, ensuring they meet the needs of the education sector and comply with statutory requirements.Expert Advice and Support: Provide comprehensive MIS advice, guidance, consultancy, and support to customers, primarily for SIMS and Bromcom, and eventually for Arbor too.High-Quality Training: Deliver high-quality training, both face to face and remote, on various aspects of MIS systems, including new functionality, data analysis, reporting, and statutory processes.Timely Support: Respond to support requests in a timely and professional manner, resolving issues and providing solutions.Detailed Documentation: Produce and maintain detailed documentation to support schools with key processes including statutory data returns, such as School Census, Workforce Census, and End of Key Stage.Representation and Advocacy: Represent the schools' interests and feedback in national forums and networks, liaising with MIS suppliers, local authorities, and other stakeholders including internal Coventry City Council teams.This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).Who are we looking for?We are looking for an experienced user of a major schools MIS system (SIMS, Bromcom or Arbor) to help support, and develop the use of MIS across Coventry Schools.The ideal candidate will have experience in the English state education sector, particularly in school administration and data management.The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of administering educational data processes and data protection legislation is essential.The candidate must exhibit excellent communication skills across written, oral, and electronic mediums, tailored to various audiences, and demonstrate exemplary stakeholder management abilities, including interpersonal, influence, and negotiation skills.The successful candidate will provide expert advice on standards, methods, tools, and applications relevant to Management Information Systems. They will be adept at assessing and advising on process improvements for school MIS systems and excel in building and maintaining critical working relationships.You will demonstrate strong leadership and management supporting the staff that you manage along with the ability to deliver high-quality services under pressure. Experience of delivering training courses, webinars, and conferences, is desirable. You will have a commitment to ongoing personal development.Accreditation in the use of Bromcom, ESS SIMS, and/or Arbor is advantageous but not essential.
