Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Engineering Manageryou will be responsible for:
* Collaborate closely with Engineering, Maintenance (especially the EC&I Engineer), and Operations, serving as the primary link for defect resolution and project coordination.
* Provide strategic advice to Senior Management, highlighting key commercial and operational implications.
* Regularly engage with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams to ensure health, safety, environmental, and operational considerations are integrated during the tender assessment process.
* Oversee and coordinate contractors, conducting necessary inductions.
* Act as a deputy in the absence of the EC&I Engineer.
* Identify and develop future projects and capital investment proposals.
* Manage contracts from initiation to completion.
* Design and implement solutions to operational and engineering challenges while ensuring projects adhere to budget and timeline constraints.
* Oversee project commissioning and facilitate training for operational and engineering teams, including the creation of technical documentation and procedures.
* Oversee and manage the annual service contract for continuous emissions monitoring equipment, coordinating service, inspection, and maintenance schedules with the planning & performance engineer.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Ideally a HNC, or similar, in a relevant engineering subject such as Electrical/Electronics/Measurement and Control Engineering
* IOSH/NEBOSH will be advantageous
* HV SAP/AP Experience will be advantageous
Personal skills, qualification and experience
The Electrical Project Engineer would suit someone who has:
* Proven experience in heavy process engineering environments such as Power Generation (Energy from Waste, Biomass, Coal, CCGT, CHP, etc), Paper Mills, COMAH sites, Steelworks, Refineries, etc
* Experience in maintaining and working on a variety of instrumentation, electrical and control system equipment (SCADA, PLC, temperature, level, pressure, flow, switch gear, motors, variable speed drives, transformers etc).
* Contract management experience.
* Experience working with HV systems
* Prior experience in producing reports for internal and external stakeholders
