What is the job role?This is an excellent opportunity to join a team of Highway Development Officers delivering high-quality development across Coventry. Our city is growing rapidly and is home to several exciting, innovative, and ground-breaking projects. You will play a key role in shaping the future development of highway and transport infrastructure supporting our ambition to be a top ten city.Working closely with the Planning and Highway teams, you will assess and provide high-quality advice on the impact of proposed development. Aligned with our One Coventry vision to deliver safe, accessible and sustainable developments, we are looking for an experienced engineer with technical knowledge and excellent negotiation skills. The role will secure funding from developers, where appropriate, to support and deliver the Council’s policies and strategies as may be adopted or promoted by the Council or Government.Who are we looking for?Good communication skills are essential in this role as you will be asked to provide in-depth reviews and comments regarding planning applications that have an impact on the highway network. You will also represent the team at Planning Committees and other review panels where required.
