Responsibilities and duties
As the Constructability Engineer you will:
* Review and provide input into design documents, ensuring constructability, maintainability, and operability.
* Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to identify and mitigate construction risks early in the design phase.
* Develop and implement constructability reviews to improve work sequencing, modularization, and installation strategies.
* Ensure that all construction methodologies align with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and project safety standards.
* Work closely with site teams, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve constructability challenges in real time.
* Support construction work package development, including reviewing lifting plans, temporary works, and site logistics.
* Assist in optimizing construction sequencing, minimizing rework, and improving project schedules.
* Conduct site visits to assess site conditions, constraints, and opportunities for improving constructability.
* Provide input into project cost estimates, assessing construction feasibility and efficiency improvements.
* Support change management, assessing the impact of design changes on construction feasibility and cost.
* Ensure that all construction activities align with project environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related engineering discipline.
* 5+ years of experience in construction, constructability, or site engineering roles, preferably in EPC projects.
* Experience with retrofit projects in industrial, water treatment, or similar process-heavy environments is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site constraints.
* Knowledge of industrial safety standards, CDM regulations, and construction best practices.
* Proficiency in constructability review techniques, 3D model reviews, and workface planning.
