We have an exciting opportunity for a Mess Manager to join our team at the Army Aviation Centre, Middle Wallop.Role OverviewAs Mess Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, organisation, and management of all Mess services, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery to members and residents. You will work closely with catering teams, client representatives, and key stakeholders to enhance service quality, drive operational efficiency, and achieve financial targets.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, develop, and manage a team to deliver outstanding service in line with contractual and company expectations.Plan and oversee all Mess operations, including catering, events, and hospitality services.Maintain high standards of food safety, health & safety, and overall compliance.Build and maintain strong client relationships, liaising with the PMC/RSM and Mess committee.Drive business growth through innovation, promotional activities, and continuous service improvements.Manage budgets effectively, ensuring cost control, waste reduction, and financial performance targets are met.Ensure compliance with company governance processes, including audits and risk management.Act as duty manager on a rotational basis, covering holiday and weekend duties as needed.What We’re Looking For:Essential:Proven experience in a management role within the soft FM service or hospitality industryStrong leadership skills with experience in people management, recruitment, and performance developmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).Good working knowledge of health & safety and food safety regulations.Ability to make independent decisions and work effectively within a team environment.Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).High attention to detail and ability to uphold service standards.Desirable:Previous experience working in a military environment.IOSH Managing Safely orequivalent health & safety qualification.Experience in contract catering, hospitality, retail, and/or cleaning services.Proven track record in managing client relationships within a contract environment.Why Join Us?Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work in a prestigious military environment.Career growth and development opportunities within a reputable organisation.A role that combines leadership, customer service, and operational excellence.If you have the skills and experience to excel as a Mess Manager, we would love to hear from you!
