We are currently looking for a newly qualified and/or experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our friendly team in Norwich, Norfolk. This role is easily commutable from Spixworth, Wymondham, Taverham, Loddon, Aylsham, Hemsby, Great Yarmouth, Gorleston-on-Sea, Hopton, Lowestoft, Beccles, Dereham, Cromer, North Walsham and the surrounding areas.Due to the nature and experience of the team, we proactively support a hybrid working model and in applying for this role as we are keen to develop the successful candidate to excel in this position should you be successful. We are also open to candidates who have completed Uni and are looking for their 1st role, or perhaps you have the experience but are looking for a supportive company to develop you academically.As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will ideally have worked in a similar industry with experience of working on Highways, Infrastructure or Maintenance Projects’ or really wanting to take your career this way.Other responsibilities for this role will include:Be an integral member of the commercial team supporting the Managing Quantity SurveyorBuild a strong relationship with internal and client counterpartsEngaging and managing sub-contracts including tender enquiries, award and assessment of monthly payment applicationsSupport the production of monthly CVR'sProduce both internal and client forecastsProduction and substantiation through to agreement of associated Final AccountsEnsure all Tarmac and client processes are followed to minimise commercial riskEnsure all work completed is accurately valued and followed through to cash collectionPrepare and submit monthly application for payments to clientsPrepare and issue early warning notices and compensation eventsDue to the nature of the work, a company vehicle is included with the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor and therefore you must have a FULL UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 pointsAs our ideal Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will have:Drive and ambition to succeedNEC3/4 knowledge - although training can be provided to the right candidateGood interpersonal and problem-solving skillsGood oral, written communication; and presentation skills with strong numeracy and analytical abilityProcess driven with commercial awareness and good negotiation skillsIt is preferred that the successful candidate for the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor is educated to degree level, although other equivalent qualifications minimum HND will be accepted.
