Are you passionate about driving environmental excellence and compliance in a fast-paced, impactful industry? A leading waste-to-energy company is seeking a skilled Environmental Manager to play a pivotal role in ensuring sustainability at their state-of-the-art facility in Deeside.
What Will You Do?
In this key position, you'll oversee all aspects of the site's environmental compliance. You'll also provide expert advice and guidance to the onsite team while building relationships with third parties, including local councils and the Environment Agency. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact by shaping environmental practices and ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory standards.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
* Lead Environmental Excellence: Become the driving force behind environmental compliance and best practices on site. Act as the go-to expert, shaping policies, influencing key decisions, and ensuring operations not only meet but exceed environmental standards.
* Monitor and Optimise: Oversee the environmental monitoring programme, ensuring regulatory and management reports are delivered accurately and on time.
* Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee adherence to permit specifications, including biodiversity management plans, while managing routine regulatory monitoring such as ESA protocols, CEMS, and water discharge compliance. Conduct inspections and audits to ensure full compliance with statutory obligations.
* Drive Data-Driven Decisions: Analyse emissions data to identify trends, prevent potential issues, and drive continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring:
* Proven Expertise: Experience in an environmental regulatory or supervisory role, with a strong background in compliance, monitoring, and reporting.
* Educational Foundation: Ideally, a BSc (or equivalent) in an Environmental subject such as Environmental Science or Chemistry.
* Strategic Thinking: A proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges, identify risks, and implement practical solutions.
* Confident Communication: The ability to effectively engage and influence internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
