The main focus of the role is to help the Commercial Team achieve the forecasted budgets through the pricing of work and the effective management of the tendering process.AsSenior Estimatoryou will also be responsible for:Negotiating and winning work contractsManaging and developing effective relationships with new and existing customers, working well as a part of a teamManaging the production and submission of all pricing work for the contracting business whilst ensuring compliance with internal review proceduresSecuring and developing new business opportunities, ensuring quality, competitive tenders are submitted, and key targeted contracts are won, taking into account business capacity, margins, financial and contractual risksUndertaking pre-contract commercial reviews to identify opportunities and risks within proposed future contractsDetailed analysis of subcontractor/supplier quotations for inclusion with tenders and producing and submitting tender handover report to the operations delivery teamDeveloping and influencing bid strategies and researching market trends and data for bid winningEnsuring compliance with policies and procedures including Health and Safety, Environmental and SustainabilityCoaching and developing Apprentices within the teamThe Ideal CandidateSuitable candidates for the role ofSenior Estimatorwill ideally have a commercial estimating background gained within highways surfacing however if you have experience working within a civil engineering environment then we would welcome your application.
