We are seeking a passionate and skilled Bank Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team on a flexible, bank basis.Based at our Oldham Service, you will be expected to travel across various locations within the localities as needed.In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering patient-centred care, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on sexual health services across Greater Manchester.Our Integrated Sexual Health Service, operating in Oldham, Bury, and Rochdale, is dedicated to empowering individuals with positive sexual health and wellbeing. We provide free, confidential, and non-judgemental services, including contraception, STI testing and treatment, and psychosexual management. As a Level 3 integrated contraception and sexual health service, we bring together expertise in Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) and Community Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.If you are committed to improving sexual health outcomes and hold the Accredited Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification or an equivalent MSc/Master’s level qualification with a Non-Medical Prescribing certification, we would love to hear from you.Package DescriptionAs a Bank Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you’ll be working as part of the HCRG Care Group Team in our Sexual Health Service across Oldham, Bury and Rochdale. As well as the attractive hourly rates of pay, you’ll benefit from:Self-booking and access to all bank shifts! You will be encouraged to apply for national funding to drive your initiatives locally to benefit our patients and service usersRewarding and supportive teams, you will be recognised and have opportunities to recognise others by nominating for local and national awards annually and taking part in our new virtual “Ask our Executives” event, where you can submit questions to the board and hear updates regularly on company strategy and objectivesWorking in an environment focused on the highest clinical and quality standards with 100% of our services being rated overall good or outstanding by the Care Quality CommissionMain ResponsibilitiesAs a Bank Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for some key areas below:To deliver integrated sexual health provision to clients of all ages and from a diverse range of cultural and social backgrounds.To be expected to work collaboratively with key team members including to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of clinical sessions.To use your advanced expertise and clinical skills to independently manage both sexual health and reproductive health patients including those with highly complex treatment and psycho-social needs. To supervise junior staff in clinical settingTo arrange appropriate referrals and liaise with both statutory and voluntary agencies for those patients identified as having social / emotional problems.  This includes complex issues around child protection and vulnerable adults and the assessment by “spotting the signs” for under 18’s.To contribute to the ongoing development of the department as a patient-focused positive learning environment. To use expertise in the emergency presentation of GUM-related problems, according to an agreed protocol, to triage walk-in patients and provide telephone triage service to assess patients’ immediate needs and direct them to the appropriate service. Please see attached Job Description for full responsibilities.The Ideal CandidateAs a Bank Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will be a registered first-level nurse with specialized expertise in sexual health, including relevant specialist courses in contraception and a Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) qualification. You will hold an Accredited Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification or an equivalent MSc/Master’s level course, along with a Non-Medical Prescribing certification. A teaching qualification or equivalent experience, as well as evidence of recent, accredited professional development, is essential.If you are caring, thoughtful, and passionate about making a difference in sexual health services—ensuring patient-centred care remains at the heart of everything you do—then this could be the perfect role for you!While not essential, additional qualifications such as cytology training (competence in cervical cytology), a leadership qualification, or a health promotion qualification would be an advantage.
