We provide free, confidential, and non-judgemental services, including contraception, STI testing and treatment, and psychosexual management. To supervise junior staff in clinical settingTo arrange appropriate referrals and liaise with both statutory and voluntary agencies for those patients identified as having social / emotional problems. This includes complex issues around child protection and vulnerable adults and the assessment by “spotting the signs” for under 18’s.To contribute to the ongoing development of the department as a patient-focused positive learning environment. To use expertise in the emergency presentation of GUM-related problems, according to an agreed protocol, to triage walk-in patients and provide telephone triage service to assess patients’ immediate needs and direct them to the appropriate service. Please see attached Job Description for full responsibilities.The Ideal CandidateAs a Bank Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will be a registered first-level nurse with specialized expertise in sexual health, including relevant specialist courses in contraception and a Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) qualification. You will hold an Accredited Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification or an equivalent MSc/Master’s level course, along with a Non-Medical Prescribing certification. A teaching qualification or equivalent experience, as well as evidence of recent, accredited professional development, is essential.If you are caring, thoughtful, and passionate about making a difference in sexual health services—ensuring patient-centred care remains at the heart of everything you do—then this could be the perfect role for you!While not essential, additional qualifications such as cytology training (competence in cervical cytology), a leadership qualification, or a health promotion qualification would be an advantage.
