This initially a contract role (6-9 months) for an experienced individual.This amazing opportunity offers you a varied, complex and rewarding role working alongside senior leaders to inform, inspire and involve colleagues in the success of their team, business and Tarmac as a whole.Whilst some time will be spent at our Solihull office and across our other sites, this hybrid role is easily accessible from Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry, Sutton Coldfield, Nuneaton, Tamworth, Hinckley, Redditch, Leamington Spa, Bromsgrove and the surrounding areas.We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.Main ResponsibilitiesThe Internal Communications andEmployee EngagementManager supports Tarmac in achieving its strategic goals and transformation journey by providing best in class internal communication and employee engagement. This influential role has a particular focus on the people side of change communication. The IC&E Manager will work with senior stakeholders across the organisation (at national, regional and function level) to ensure that change communications are joined up to aid understanding and adoption of change initiatives.The primary objective is creating and implementing change communication and engagement plans that enhance our culture, drive employee adoption and minimise resistance.Optimisation: unlocking business potential through operational efficiencies and consistent application of best practice.Digital transformation: helping the organisation accelerate its approach and adoption of digital tools and technology.Employee engagement: deep understanding of employee feedback and applying this to support the delivery of the Culture Plan, driving adoption of new ways of working, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset and building an inclusive culture to support continuous improvement. In this role you will:Design employee engagement strategies and put these into practice through creative and targeted tactical delivery, with a focus on engaging frontline, operational teams.Create two-way internal communication strategies for projects and programmes, delivering tactical plans for each programme to raise awareness, support changes to ways of working, and driver ownership – with a particular focus on the engagement of frontline managers and operatives.Align plans with the principles of the IC strategy and People Plan, in particular enabling managers and supervisors to communicate effectively.Work as a trusted advisor to leadership teams on change management plans, building effective relationships with senior business leaders with an in-depth knowledge of the business and the people impact of change.Form strategies to increase participation in employee engagement initiatives.Work with business teams and the wider HR function to create bespoke engagement action plans and improve any focus areas.Effectively measure success of tactical plans and support continuous improvement of internal communications. To include employee listening/ feedback via OpCo and Group sources and bringing external best practice and thinking into the company. Reporton progress regularly and adapt approach as required.Work with theHead of Communications and Engagement todeliver the annual comms and engagement plan, including supporting SLT briefings (regional and national) and conference activity.The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for the role of Internal Communications andEmployee EngagementManager, will have proven experience of internal communications and knowledge of comms principles and practices.5+ years of experience in internal communication and engagement, preferably in sectors with operational/frontline workers and a high proportion of non-connected employees.Proven track record of managing large-scale engagement projects, including coordination, collaboration, creativity and measurement of results.Creating content across all channels in line with engagement plans.Well versed in using all internal comms channels, employee branding, stakeholder engagement, risk management, editorial and electronic media, events support, scriptwriting, film and photography commissioning.)You must be immediately available or on a short notice period.
