The site is easily accessible via from Biggleswade, Letchworth Garden City, Bedford, Luton, Stevenage, Royston, Buntingford, Wyboston, St Neots, Huntingdon, Buckden, Rushden, Milton Keynes, Kempston, Shefford, Flitwick and surrounding areas.Here at Tarmac, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds, therefore prior technical experience isn’t always necessary for success.Reporting directly to Shift Supervisor. The Multi Skilled Operativewill work on the day-to-day operations driving mobile plant and other site duties including plant housekeeping, you will work with the team to the site plan, you will ensure that all stocks are maintained and replenished in good time along with working to keep housekeeping around site to a high standard.Your responsibilities in the role will include (not exhaustive):Operating Mobile Plant on siteGood IT knowledge of Microsoft packages and outlookWorking with other members of the team to ensure that customers get good quality material and on-time deliveriesAssist the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targetsFollow SHE policies and proceduresEnsure Plant conforms with safety requirements at all timesHealth, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilitiesInspections on the plant and acting on defects and implement remedial actionEnsure that plant availability is maximisedWorking to keep housekeeping around site to a high standardThis role is a day’s role where flexibility and adaptability are key to this role with overtime available to meet with the sites production requirementsTo succeed in the role of a Multi Skilled Operativethe following is what we are looking for in a future colleague:Knowledge of Quarrying / Asphalt / Readymix / RMX Operations or experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment would prove highly beneficialIT LiteratePrevious experience in mobile and plant operations - highly desirableShovel License – highly desirableGood Timekeeping – flexible as to the sites quarrying requirementsGood Communication skills – bringing problems to the attention of Line ManagementFull UK manual car Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty pointsPrevious experience as a Multi Skilled Operativeworking in a Plant / Quarry / Industrial Manufacturing environment would prove highly beneficial; but this is not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.
