In this crucial role, you will be responsible for assessing primary-aged children, both at the main school and the attached ERP, to determine their suitability for play therapy. You will prepare and deliver tailored play therapy sessions, including filial play, to support the holistic development of the identified children. Key Responsibilities:• Assess primary-aged children for their suitability for play therapy• Prepare and deliver play therapy sessions, including filial play, for identified children• Provide advice and support for parents/carers and children to help develop and strengthen parent/carer-child relationships• Monitor, review, and evaluate the impact of the play therapy service, providing evidence of outcomes to stakeholdersRequirements:• Relevant professional qualification in Play Therapy or a related field• Significant experience in working with primary-aged children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues• Demonstrable understanding of child development and the therapeutic benefits of play• Commitment to promoting inclusive practises and supporting the holistic needs of all pupilsDesirable Qualities:• Experience in working within a multi-disciplinary team• Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and strategies for supporting children with additional needs• Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and their families Closing date: Note, adverts shut off at midnight on your closing date Tuesday 6th May 2025Interview date: Thursday 15th May 2025 Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
