This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent leadership and organisational skills to take charge of the day-to-day operations of a Mess, ensuring a high standard of service for all members and residents.What you’ll do:Supervise and manage the daily activities of the Mess, ensuring the smooth running of all services to benefit members and residents.Collaborate with the catering team to promote and manage functions, including planning, menu creation, and costing.Ensure that service standards outlined in the Schedule of Requirements (SOR) and quantity tables are consistently met and maintained.Build and maintain strong relationships with the PMC/RSM and mess committee, while promoting Sodexo’s values and services.Plan, organise, and oversee the delivery of all services within the Mess operational area, ensuring effective and efficient operations.Monitor and develop service standards as specified in the service level agreement, KPIs, and contractual terms and conditions for the assigned operational business area.Contribute to the growth of services, meeting client and commercial expectations, while maintaining strict budgetary control in line with both client and Sodexo objectives.Embrace and implement the principles of Collaborative Business Relationships (BS11000), aligned with Sodexo’s vision and values.Manage and develop the performance of a team of direct reports, ensuring a high level of engagement and productivity.All practices are in line with Sodexo policies and procedures and those set out within Health and Safety and Food safety guidelines/legislationWhat you bring:Knowledge of working in a management role within the soft FM service industryLeadership skills and knowledgePeople management skills including general HR skills in recruitment, training and managing employee performance including disciplinary and grievance procedures.Good numerical, interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communicationManagement knowledge of health & safety and food safetyAbility to make independent decisionsAble to work on own initiative within a team environmentAble to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standardsAnalyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutionsDesirable:Experience of working within military environmentPrevious experience in effectively managing in a similar roleHealth and Safety qualification equivalent to IOSH managing safelySoft FM specific technical skills including contract catering, hospitality, retail and cleaning knowledge and skillsProven experience of managing client relationships within a contract environmentProven track record of leading, managing and developing a teamWhat we offer: Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
