Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence.The service you will work in….To work in partnership develop compelling projects and proposals in support of survivors of modern slavery and domestic abuse and people experiencing mental ill health; to secure income from a range of trust and statutory funders in line with ambitious financial targets of Hestia's Fundraising StrategyA day in this role looks like….As a Trust and Statutory Funding Manager at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Fundraising and Communications team. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:• Ensuring that applications match the interests and giving potential of each funder, as well as the organisational objectives• Develop internal and external appeals, where appropriate, and effective cases for suppor
t• Develop and maintain a regular stewardship programme with trusts• Prepare and write regular progress reports, in line with funders' requirements • Prepare and write regular progress reports for the Senior Management Team• Contribute to the development, planning and implementation of the fundraising strategy • Work closely with everyone across the organisation and keep up to date with funding needs and operational developments through regular meetings with managers in the Operations Directorate • Become fully conversant with the functions of Donorfy • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the Donorfy database, ensuring that records are up to date and that all new grants/donations and correspondence have been entered • Participate and ensure effective administrative services to support and monitor our fundraising activities. This includes mail-merging, coding of donor records, ensuring income is recorded accurately, mailing documents and thanking donors • Keep abreast of developments in fundraising and the sector • Contribute new ideas for fundraising and identify suitable funding initiatives, and calls for proposals • Participate in the day-to-day work of the organisation – such as reporting, attending team, management and Board meetings as required, and taking a flexible approach to general administrative and support tasks • To take on other reasonable tasks and functions as requested by the Head of Trust and Statutory FundingJoining Hestia means more than just a job; it's an opportunity to be part of something bigger. excel in this role, you should possess:• Track record of success in raising five and six figure grants from trusts, foundations and statutory funders • Ability to develop high quality proposals and monitoring reports tailored to funders' requirements and criteria and well written • Strong relationship management skills for the stewardship of new and existing funders • Ability to build relationships with a wide range of colleagues, service users, volunteers and external stakeholders using a variety of communication methods • Confident in working in a fast-paced environment where the ability to find positive solutions to meet competing priorities is key • Previous experience of using fundraising CRM systems, ideally Donorfy• Empathy with and understanding of Hestia's charitable causes and values• Willing and able to work occasional evenings and weekendsSkills/Knowledge required for the position:• Numerate with experience of preparing budgets • Good attention to detail in all aspects of work e.g. maintaining accurate records, good grammar etc • Understanding of GDPR and other charity law as relates to fundraising • Skilled in use of MS Office packages, particularly MS Word and Excel • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriatelyOur commitment to Equality, Diversity, and InclusionOur services users come from all walks of life and so do we.
