Senior Health & Safety Manager

Location: West Midlands (Hybrid flexible, 3 days office, 2 from home)
Salary: £60,000 per annum + Company Car Allowance

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Health & Safety Manager to lead our safety function and uphold our high standards across all sites. About the Role
In this senior leadership position, you will oversee all aspects of health and safety management across our organisation. You will be instrumental in developing tailored safety policies, leading a team of professionals, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to operational safety.
Your focus will not only be on compliance, but on cultivating a proactive, engaged safety culture—one that prioritises the wellbeing of every employee and ensures our teams are empowered to work safely every day.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage health and safety across all sites, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational standards.
Develop and implement site-specific safety policies and procedures.
Provide leadership and mentorship to Regional Health & Safety Officers and support the H&S Training Manager.
Conduct inspections, audits, and investigations; drive continuous improvement.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to address safety concerns.
Deliver effective training initiatives to build safety capability across the organisation.
Use data and insight to identify trends, reduce risk, and support strategic safety improvements.
What we're looking for:
Demonstrated experience in health and safety roles, including multi-site management and team leadership.
Strong understanding of safety regulations, risk assessment, incident prevention, and compliance.
Hands-on experience with training delivery and topics such as working at height, fire safety, manual handling, COSHH, and driver safety.
NEBOSH Diploma (essential); NVQ Level 5/6 or IOSH/IIRSM memberships advantageous.
Confident communicator with excellent leadership, coaching, and influencing skills.
Organised, detail-oriented, and data-literate, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to build and embed a strong safety culture across diverse teams.
