Join Our Team as a SHEQ Manager at TPA Portable Roadways – Leading the Charge in Health, Safety, Environment, and Compliance!At TPA Portable Roadways, we are a leading European supplier of temporary access solutions, specialising in providing versatile hire equipment including portable roadways, walkways, and ground protection. We’re looking for a dedicated and proactive SHEQ Manager to join our team and take the lead in implementing our Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies across the business. This role will play a key part in delivering our SHEQ & compliance strategy, ensuring we remain at the forefront of industry standards.Reporting to the Head of Technical Operations & Compliance, the SHEQ Manager will take ownership of health and safety across all sites, lead the investigation of incidents, and develop and deliver effective training for the entire organisation. The role will also involve ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant HSE legislation and working with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesHealth & Safety:Lead the business in complying with HSE legislation across all TPA sites.Identify trends and manage risks to continuously improve health and safety standards.Support the commercial team with relevant HSE data for customers.Maintain strong relationships with Compliance teams and implement positive compliance initiatives across TPA.Own and develop the sustainability roadmap and Business Continuity Plan.Ensure policies and processes are effective in risk mitigation and compliance.Oversee HSE certifications and ensure the business is always in line with new regulations.Lead regular safety meetings and training sessions, engaging employees in a safety-first culture.Create, deliver, and own the overall SHEQ & Compliance strategy.Incident Investigation:Manage the investigation process for all incidents, from start to finish, within branches and customer sites.Analyse and identify trends in incidents and near misses, developing action plans to prevent recurrence.Lead the development of new policies and procedures based on investigation findings.Ensure timely and accurate reporting to both internal management and external bodies.Training & Development:Develop and deliver effective training to ensure all employees can carry out their roles safely and compliantly.Oversee the TPA Training Academy, ensuring training content meets regulatory standards and business needs.Identify ongoing training needs and support employees with development opportunities.Depot Audits & Compliance:Guide Depot Managers to maintain safe systems, providing expert advice, coaching, and support.Carry out audits to assess the effectiveness of health and safety systems and recommend improvements.Provide leadership in achieving and maintaining ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 certification.Environmental Impact & Compliance:Support and champion environmental sustainability efforts across the business.Take ownership of the carbon calculator and identify ways to improve the environmental footprint of the company.Line Management:Effectively line manage the Office Administrator and SHEQ Coordinator.Oversee employee performance, including holiday and absence management, with support from the HR team.Identify and support development needs for direct reports and offer guidance where needed.What We’re Looking ForExperience in Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality management within the construction or hire equipment industry.NEBOSH Certificate essential / NEBOSH Diploma desirable.
