Production Operative
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, working Monday - Friday 07:00 - 16:30, Friday 07:00 - 11:00
Location: Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham (On-site)
Salary: £28,308.80 per annum (+ Production Bonus of up to £5,000 per annum)
Fixed Shutdown Holidays: Including Easter week, 2 weeks in August, October half-term, and 1 week at Christmas, plus additional days awarded for long service.

What your day-to-day will look like…
As a Production Operative, you'll support the full coffin manufacturing process—from building and assembling to finishing and quality checking. This is hands-on, skilled work in a respectful and well-managed environment. Your duties will also include:

Manufacturing coffins using wood, lacquers, soft goods, and other materials.
Assembling components and applying finishes such as sanding, staining, or spraying.
Conducting quality checks throughout the process.
Operating tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and productive working environment.
Supporting continuous improvement and team productivity.

What we’re looking for
This role would suit someone who:

Prior experience working within a manufacturing, woodworking or machinery operation is beneficial but not essential. 
Has great attention to detail and takes pride in quality craftsmanship.
CNC trained or certified would be preferable. 
Is confident working with tools and machinery (training provided).
Has the physical stamina for hands-on work and standing for extended periods.
Works well in a team and communicates clearly.
Is safety-conscious, reliable, and motivated to do meaningful work.
