GP Surgery Pharmacy Technician - South London - Locum Contract (Ongoing)
Hunter AHP have an opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join a supportive GP surgery in South London . This is a great chance to become an integral part of a primary care team, working closely with GPs, nurses, and clinical pharmacists to help deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
As a GP Surgery Pharmacy Technician, your duties will include:
Processing medication-related tasks
Actioning all medication requests and changes from hospital discharge letters, outpatient clinic correspondence, and direct communications from other health professionals.
Medication Monitoring
Ensuring appropriate and timely monitoring of high-risk medications (e.g., DMARDs, lithium, NOACs).
Liaising with patients to book blood tests or reviews where needed, and chasing outstanding monitoring if required.
Repeat Prescription Management
Preparing repeat prescriptions for GP authorisation.
Checking that all repeat medications are up to date with appropriate reviews and monitoring in place.
Highlighting or resolving discrepancies or inappropriate prescribing as per local policies.
Clinical Audit and Quality Improvement
Supporting with QoF (Quality and Outcomes Framework) and CQC (Care Quality Commission) preparation and follow-up tasks.
Running reports, audits, and helping with clinical searches to support practice targets and regulatory compliance.
Role Details:
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: Ongoing (long-term locum opportunity)
Working Pattern: Flexible - choose from 3, 4, or 5 days per week (30-37.5 hours total)
Location: GP surgery based in South London - easily accessible and ideal for local candidates
Hourly Rate: �16 - �21 per hour (DOE)
Payment: Weekly pay every Friday via Hunter AHP
This is an excellent opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician with primary care or GP surgery experience looking to step into a fulfilling role. Candidates with a background in community or hospital settings and a strong understanding of medicines management processes in primary care will also be considered.
