Responsibilities and duties of the Associate Director of Town Planning role
Reporting to the Directors, you will:
* Drive business development and grow the Scottish branch, securing new project opportunities
* Demonstrate leadership with a commercial focus, helping to steer the business through its next phase of growth
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and lead stakeholder engagement activities
* Lead planning services for strategic infrastructure and renewable energy projects, including programme and budget management
* Manage client enquiries, prepare bids, and maintain strong client relationships
* Mentor and support junior and senior planners, contributing to the development of a high-performing team
* Stay informed on planning and energy policy developments in Scotland and the wider UK
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Chartered Member of the RTPI
* Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within the onshore wind sector
* Excellent knowledge of the Scottish planning system
* Proven success in managing planning applications in onshore or offshore wind
* Strong commercial awareness and business development skills
* Full, clean UK driving licence
