At the heart of safeguarding children in Surrey, the Multi-Agency Partnership (MAP) brings together dedicated professionals from health, social care, education, and the police to ensure timely, effective, and coordinated support for children aged 0–18.As a Safeguarding Children Health Advisor, you will play a crucial role within this dynamic, integrated team. Working collaboratively with our multi-agency colleagues, you will assess referrals and notifications, carefully triage and analyse information, and contribute your clinical expertise to help identify the most appropriate level of support for each child.Your responsibilities will include sourcing, interpreting, and sharing relevant health information—always with the highest regard for confidentiality—to support safeguarding decisions. This process takes place within a secure, fire-walled environment that enables safe and efficient information sharing. While the Local Authority maintains statutory oversight, the MAP operates as a collective decision-making body, ensuring that every professional voice is valued in planning the right outcomes for children.You will be based within Victoria Gate in Woking. Access e-learning, career pathways, and funding opportunities to help you grow.Recognition & Involvement: Celebrate achievements with local and national awards, contribute ideas to improve services, and stay informed through regular updates from our leadership team.Main ResponsibilitiesProfessional LeadershipLead on health-related aspects of the MAP and agreed improvement areas.Coordinate and participate in internal/external working groups, offering expert advice and support.Provide timely reports and safeguarding updates to the Named Nurse and Head of Safeguarding.Conduct audits as required and support variance analysis and resolution within MAP activity.Contribute to risk identification, issue resolution, and escalation within the integrated team.Assist in coordinating and delivering multi-agency health training and development.Workforce DevelopmentSupport coordination of MAP-related training and succession planning.Provide and participate in professional appraisals and health supervision with the Named Nurse.Information ManagementOffer safeguarding improvement recommendations through audits, analysis, and reports.Ensure timely, accurate data reporting and analysis to the safeguarding leadership.Identify and fulfill own training needs; complete all mandatory training and annual appraisal.Engage in clinical supervision and competency development.Support team development in record keeping and clinical skills enhancement.Information ResourcesMaintain accurate electronic records and produce data reports and training presentations.Adhere to data protection standards and information-sharing protocols.Freedom to ActComply with leadership behaviors, corporate policies, and relevant professional codes (e.g., NMC).Uphold all relevant organisational policies, including whistleblowing and confidentiality.The Ideal CandidateEssentialRegistered Nurse or MidwifeEducated to degree level or equivalent experience in safeguarding/child protection3 years experience of working with children and/or families with Child Protection/safeguarding experienceEvidence of continuous professional development (CPD)   in safeguarding children level 3Experience of working across professional and multi-agency boundariesExperience of managing risks and reporting and escalating concernsUnderstanding of the wider healthcare environment and contemporary NHS issuesUnderstanding of multi-agency working and the approach to safeguardingKnowledge of legislation and policy DesirableExperience of working in CAMHS/adult mental health servicesExperience of CPD in safeguarding adults level 3About The CompanyWe change lives by transforming health and care. Established in 2006, we are one of the UK's leading independent providers of community health and care services, working with health and care commissioners and communities to transform services with a focus on experience, efficiency, and improved outcomes.
