Our Local Authority client based in Cambridgeshire are currently looking for a Desktop Analyst to work on a contract basis. Job Purpose  To provide hardware and software support for end user devices, including PCs, laptops, tablets, telephones, printers and scanners, ensuring that incidents and standard service catalogue requests are resolved in line with local service level agreements/key performance indicators and local operating and security policies.  Analyse, diagnose and resolve complex end user device hardware and software problems and incidents in accordance with local service level agreements/key performance indicators and local operating and security policies and with minimal disruption to the end user.  Liaise, refer and escalate more complex calls to other teams in accordance with agreed operating procedures, ensuring that all actions taken have been accurately recorded on the Helpdesk and maintaining clear communication during call hand-offs.  Perform standard service catalogue requests, including provision of standard equipment and software, in accordance with local service level agreements/key performance indicators and local operating and security policies with minimal disruption to the end user.  Design and lead implementations for new IT technologies (including end user hardware, peripherals, desktop software) as part of change and projects, including proof of concepts, testing and service readiness - in accordance with local service level agreements/key performance indicators and local operating and security policies and with minimal disruption to the end user. Maintain the Software Asset Management register to ensure compliance with license and installations. Monitor the hardware asset inventories to ensure they remain current  Maintain a deep technical knowledge of corporate end user devices (Windows, iOS and Android), including hardware and software configurations and the IT technical infrastructure in order to provide a comprehensive support service.  rs.  PERSON SPECIFICATION  Education, Qualification & Training  Educated to GCSE “A” standard or equivalent in Maths and English Language  Formal PC / Server training or equivalent relevant experience gained in the workplace.  Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) experience  Current UK driving license  Knowledge & Experience  Designed and successfully implemented a desktop rollout  Experience of Microsoft System Centre technology to ensure deployment, patching and compliance  Experience of mobile device management and encryption tools  Extensive experience of supporting and resolving incidents (hardware and software) on end user devices,  Extensive experience of installing, configuring and supporting computer systems in a networked environment  Supporting a wide range of applications within an networked environment  Extensive experience of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems  Experience of working with a variety of IT technologies including iOS and Android  Experience of Voice over Internet protocol, telephone systems  Experience of Smartphone/mobile phone management  Experience of network cabling and switching technology  Support of Microsoft Office applications  Special Requirements  Physically fit, as the post holder will have to lift/move PCs, monitors, printers etc.  A flexible attitude to working service hours i.e. you are prepared to work outside normal working hours to support the service  If you have the required skills and experience please apply with an updated CV
