Teaching Personnel are looking to build up a bank of teaching assistants with for two behavioural schools in Wigan. This is to start ASAP as these schools require a high number of support staff on a daily basis. These schools are located in South and East Wigan and one is primary, the other secondary aged.

These schools support pupils that are of a vulnerable and have a challenging nature. You will work closely with your colleagues to create action plans for students across Key Stages 1&2/ 3 & 4, taking an active role in implementing a programme that positively encourages learners to overcome barriers to learning, improve their skills and ultimately gain recognised qualifications.

You will have strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate with families, carers and a multidisciplinary team of teaching staff, social workers and educational psychologists. You will be organised, patient and confident, with a sound understanding of the key issues currently affecting young people.

It is not essential to have worked in a school for this position however it is preferred to have worked with children, especially those with SEN or challenging behaviour. Candidates with youth worker backgrounds are highly sort after for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
